Tuition Assistance & Scholarships

If you would like your child to experience a St. Francis Xavier education, please know that we will do everything possible to help make tuition fit within your family budget. We are committed to making Catholic education available and affordable to all interested families. To confidentially explore your options, please complete the form below or Contact Deanna Dupont, Admissions Coordinator, by phone at (920) 735-9380 x5226, or by email to ddupont@xaviercatholicschools.org

Option 1: Complete the FACTS Scholarship Application

If you believe you may qualify for a need-based tuition scholarship you may confidentially apply through FACTS Management.  Important dates to keep in mind:

  • Applications for tuition assistance for the 2023-2024 school year will be accepted through FACTS Management beginning Jan. 18, 2023 thru September 30, 2023. You can apply at no cost using the link above. For current Xavier families, your priority deadline to apply for need-based assistance through FACTS is March 17, 2023.
  • New families may apply at any time until all funds are dispersed.
  • If you need assistance after this deadline, please contact Admissions.

Option 2:  Consider applying for the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program

Over 250 Xavier students currently receive vouchers through the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) that cover the cost of the base tuition and the registration fee. It’s true! If you qualify by income and residency you can apply in the lottery for the chance to receive a voucher. If you receive one, it is renewable through 12th grade without going back into the lottery. For more information, visit the WPCP page

Option 3: Consider additional Scholarship Opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year. Scholarships are available through the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System Foundation.

Visit our Scholarships page for more information on our scholarship opportunities.

  • Xavier High School Scholarships
  • Xavier Middle School Scholarships
  • Xavier Elementary School Scholarships
  • Parish and College Scholarships

Option 4: Consider employment opportunities at Xavier. Qualified employees are eligible for a tuition discount.

Xavier seeks highly qualified individuals who will foster a love of learning in our students and embrace our school mission. Xavier offers a tuition discount for employees' students enrolled at Xavier in grades K-12. Full-time employees receive a 50% discount and many part-time employees are eligible for a pro-rated discount. Many of our employment opportunities are school year positions that would offer you the opportunity to work on the days that your children are in school. Visit our Employment Opportunities page to learn more.

Option 5: State Tax Deduction

A state income tax deduction is available for elementary and secondary school tuition expenses paid on or after January 1, 2022.  When filing in 2022, taxpayers may claim their paid private and religious school tuition expenses of up to $4,000 for each dependent child in kindergarten through eighth grade, and up to $10,000 for each dependent child in grades nine through twelve.  The Wisconsin Catholic Conference supported the tax deduction, recognizing it as one of the many ways the state can affirm the vital role parents play in shepherding their children’s education. St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System's FEIN is # 75-2975177.

Any person who pays tuition expenses at a private school and taxes in Wisconsin is eligible.  However, the deduction is not a tax credit.  The amount that any one family or individual will save is dependent upon income, filing status, and most importantly, the resulting tax liability.

Please check with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for additional information under the Private School Tax credit provisions to verify eligibility or consult your tax advisor.

Option 6: Participate in the Scrip Program

Scrip is a gift card resale program in which Xavier families and friends can purchase gift cards for many local and national businesses.  Of the revenue generated, 65% will be applied toward tuition. Scrip credits are earned for the current school year from April 1st - March 31st.  Credits earned after April 1st are applied toward the following school year's tuition. Visit the Scrip page for more information.

Option 7: Consider Hosting an International Student

Any Xavier Catholic Schools family with children currently enrolled may receive up to a $2,000 tuition discount for hosting an international student, a monthly taxable stipend of up to $600 per month, and the opportunity for an incredible intercultural experience.  Contact Matt Parish, Associate Principal, or Kim Hammen, Counselor,  for more information.

Option 8: Discuss Additional Scholarship Opportunities with Your Pastor

There may be additional scholarship opportunities available through your parish. Please contact your pastor for more information.

Option 9: Research Participation in a Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA)

ESA's provide qualifying families the opportunity to save tax-free for Xavier Catholic Schools tuition expenses. If this option is appropriate for your family, you can begin saving at birth and all earnings that are subsequently used for education will be tax-free. Visit IRS.gov for more information.

If you have any questions during this process, please feel free to contact St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System Central Office at (920) 735-9380.
